The
Bad Accident card is one of the rarest and most desirable
mechanical bank trade cards. The overall graphic design of
this card is outstanding. Note, in particular, how the words
"Accident" and "Bank" roughly follow the upward trajectory
of the cart traces (the thingamabobs that protrude forward
from the cart on either side of the donkey). Strong colors
and a classic "watermelon darky" image complement the design
to make this an exceptional card. This card
was printed by the Gast Lith. and Eng. Co. of Buffalo, New
York, and issued in 1889. It is shown here at 85 percent of
full size.
