American Eagle

The American Eagle card is relatively common, although it's usually found with the advertiser's panel at the bottom trimmed. In something of a mystery, this trimming was apparently done prior to distribution.

A complete example of an American Eagle card, like the one shown here, is rare.

This card was printed by the Aug. Gast Company of New York, and issued in 1883. It's shown here at 85 percent of full size.
