mechanical bank card with great color and a baseball theme
would be one of the most desirable trade cards that anyone
could ever want. Well, here it is! The
$7,700 price paid at auction in 1994 for a mint example of
the Base Ball Bank card remains the highest price ever paid
for any trade card. Note that
at that time, "baseball" was spelled using two words, not
one. This card
was y Gast & Co. of New York, and issued in 1888. It's
