Champion
Knights!
Camera! Action! Here's a strongly masculine scene from the
days of yore.
Besides
being an all-out graphic knockout, this Champion card is
special because it includes not only the month and day of
sailing, but also the year, 1859. Very few clipper ship
cards were imprinted with their date of issuance. Of course,
there was no need to. Clipper ship cards were distributed in
the few weeks prior to a ship's scheduled departure, so the
year was obvious.
This card
was printed by George Nesbitt of New York, and is shown at
80 percent of actual size.
