A wide variety of puzzle types are found on trade cards, the most common being hidden object puzzles followed by rebus puzzles. Others puzzles involve path finding, reasoning, arithmetic, jigsaws and optical illusions. Victorians must have had fun whiling away the hours with these brain teasers.
