trade card, advertising Warner's Safe Yeast, capitalizes on
the national interest in the many comets that appeared
during the 1800s. The comet shown here was probably the
Comet of 1882. This card is also interesting in its
depiction of a Victorian bedroom. Printed by Mensing &
Stecher, Rochester, N.Y., this card is shown at seventy
percent of its actual size.
