John
Kelly's Fine Shoes, Rochester, N.Y., is advertised in this
example by showing three young children playing in a giant,
high-buttoned woman's shoe--which was high fashion during
the late 1800s. This is also a good example
of the frequent use of exaggeration in trade cards for
capturing the viewer's attention. This trade card is shown at
seventy percent of its actual size, and its printer is
unknown.
