Set 1 consists of early stock cards printed by Clay, Cosack & Co, Buffalo. Some are dated as early as 1870 and others bear no date. The cards in set 2 were also printed by Clay & Cosack and are dated 1876. Set 3 was printed by Thos. Hunter, Phila and dated 1877. Sets 4 and 5 were printed by Ketterlinus, Phila. Set 6 bears no printer's mark but the cards have similar graphics. Set 7 currently consists of cards that don't seem to fit anywhere else. Ketterlinus printed card 7.1 and G. S. Harris, Philda. printed card 7.2.

It's interesting to see that some images appear in more than one set. The French Cook seems to have been the most popular, appearing in cards 2.3, 3.3 and 5.4, and eight other images appear in two sets each.

This listing is very likely incomplete, and the author would appreciate hearing about any cards not shown here. Cards 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.3, 3.5 - 3.8, 4.1 - 4.3, 4.7, 4.10 and 6.11 were reported by John Kemler and are in his collection. Card 1.2 was reported by Dave Cheadle and is in his collection. Cards 3.4, 3.10 and 7.2 were reported by Ron Schieber, and are in his collection. Card 7.3 was reported by Joe Atmore, and is in his collection (he avidly collects Atmore's memorabilia and can be contacted at atmore@attglobal.net). The other cards are in the author's collection.
